This vase is crafted from Jingdezhen's uniquely high-quality kaolin clay, boasting a pure and delicate texture. Craftsmen, relying on masterful techniques passed down through generations, hand-threw the pottery. Every curve and arc is imbued with passion and care, imbuing the vase with life.

After hand-throwing, the process of hand-painting with blue and white doucai (a type of doucai) begins. Using the blue and white as a base, the artist meticulously outlines the twined branches pattern on the pristine white porcelain body. The blue and white colors are vibrant, and the cobalt, when fired, produces a blue color with strong coloring power, vibrant color, a high firing rate, and stable color development, setting an elegant tone for the vase.

The use of doucai (a type of doucai) adds a vibrant and dreamy effect to the vase. Artisans use a variety of pigments, including red, yellow, green, and purple, to fill in the blue and white outlines, creating vibrant colors and a striking yet harmonious harmony. The twined branches pattern, interwoven with the blue and white and doucai, symbolizes endless life and auspiciousness.

This Jingdezhen blue and white porcelain vase, modeled after the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, is more than just a decorative piece; it is a precious work of art that carries history and culture.

The History of Jingdezhen Ceramics

Located in China's Jiangxi Province, Jingdezhen boasts a history of porcelain making that spans over 1,700 years.

Jingdezhen's porcelain journey began during the Han Dynasty (202 BC - 220 AD), when locals began crafting simple pottery. Over time, by the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 AD), Jingdezhen had become renowned for producing high-quality celadon (blue-colored porcelain) and white porcelain. These porcelains, famous for their delicate texture and smooth glaze, began to be traded throughout China.

Basic Ceramic Production Process

1. Select and prepare the ceramic raw materials.

2. Form the body.

3. Allow to air dry.

4. Glaze to impart color and luster to the ceramic.

5. Firing at high temperatures. This is the transformation from clay to ceramic.

6. Apply decorations such as painting and carving, and polish to enhance the texture.
