This blue and white porcelain vase is crafted from Jingdezhen's unique kaolin clay. This fine, pure soil provides a solid foundation for its beauty.

Experienced artisans, using their hands as brushes and clay as ink, begin the journey of shaping the vase.

The Secret of Blue and White: Using carefully selected blue and white clay is the soul of blue and white porcelain painting. Firing at high temperatures, this material reveals a deep, rich blue, reminiscent of the azure sky, pure and distant. This unique blue not only adds a touch of mystery and allure to the vase, but also embodies the traditional Chinese pursuit of tranquility and profound meaning.

The Painter's Masterful Brush: Skilled artists apply delicate brushstrokes to the blue and white coiled branch pattern on the pristine white vase. As a traditional Chinese decorative motif, coiled branch patterns symbolize endless life and longevity.

This Jingdezhen blue and white porcelain vase, with its simple yet elegant form and exquisite blue and white coiled branch pattern, exudes a unique artistic charm. The white of the blue-and-white porcelain and the blue-and-white porcelain complement each other, creating a stark contrast yet a harmonious unity. Owning a Jingdezhen blue-and-white porcelain vase is a culmination of art and culture, a dialogue between tradition and modernity, adding a unique and captivating touch to your life.

The History of Jingdezhen Ceramics

Located in China's Jiangxi Province, Jingdezhen boasts a history of porcelain making that spans over 1,700 years.

Jingdezhen's porcelain journey began during the Han Dynasty (202 BC - 220 AD), when locals began crafting simple pottery. Over time, by the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 AD), Jingdezhen had become renowned for producing high-quality celadon (blue-colored porcelain) and white porcelain. These porcelains, famous for their delicate texture and smooth glaze, began to be traded throughout China.

Basic Ceramic Production Process

1. Select and prepare the ceramic raw materials.

2. Form the body.

3. Allow to air dry.

4. Glaze to impart color and luster to the ceramic.

5. Firing at high temperatures. This is the transformation from clay to ceramic.

6. Apply decorations such as painting and carving, and polish to enhance the texture.
