The raw red clay material is a rare variety of Yixing purple sand ore, and can be called the "ruby" among purple sand clay materials. It is mainly produced in Huanglong Mountain, Yixing, with a scarce stock and great difficulty in mining. The color of this clay material is bright and eye-catching, usually showing a rich and layered red color, as hot as a burning flame.

The iron oxide content in the raw red clay material is extremely high. After strict mining and selection, it must also go through many tedious processes such as weathering, crushing, screening, and aging. During the aging process, the texture of the clay material will become more delicate and flexible, and the plasticity will be greatly enhanced, laying a solid foundation for making high-quality teapots.

Making a Kung Fu teapot is an extreme test of superb skills and patience. Experienced craftsmen are fully focused on their creations.

Starting from making clay slices, craftsmen need to rely on their skilled techniques and precise control of strength to repeatedly beat and roll the clay to make it into a clay slice of uniform thickness. This process not only tests the physical strength of the craftsmen, but also tests their deep understanding of the nature of the clay. The production of parts such as the spout, handle, and knob is also meticulous. The craftsmen carefully rub, pinch, cut, and dig to make every detail perfectly match the body of the pot and coordinate the proportions. When making the frosted effect, the craftsmen will use special tools and techniques to carefully process the surface of the pot body, so that the surface of the teapot presents a unique frosted texture.

From an artistic point of view, it has a classic antique shape, which is round and full, exuding a simple and elegant atmosphere; it also has an innovative modern shape with simple and smooth lines, showing a unique fashion beauty.

In terms of practicality, it has good air permeability and water absorption. When brewing tea, it can absorb the odor in the tea leaves, retain the tea fragrance, and make the tea soup more mellow and sweet. Moreover, the heat preservation performance of the purple clay teapot is also excellent, which can keep the temperature of the tea soup for a long time, allowing tea drinkers to enjoy a stable tea aroma and taste in every brew.

For collectors, it is a precious collection.

Each teapot is a work of art, offering an extraordinary tea-brewing experience.

Preserving the True Flavor of Tea

Yixing teapots are crafted from a porous material with a unique double-pore structure, yielding fine, dense pores. Brewing tea in a purple clay teapot preserves the tea's original flavor and aroma, capturing its true taste.

Yixing teapots are highly breathable, keeping the tea fresh even on scorching summer days.

With age, the surface of the teapot will become increasingly luminous, exuding an elegant charm. Over time, through repeated use and care, it will gradually develop a warm, lustrous patina.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can we boil the water in a zisha teapot?

No, it is not recommended to boil water directly in a zisha teapot. These teapots are traditionally used for steeping tea, not for boiling water.

Do we put hot water in this teapot with the tea and then serve it?

Yes, the typical usage of a zisha teapot involves pouring hot water into the teapot along with tea leaves, allowing them to steep, and then serving the brewed tea.

How do I clean my teapot?

To clean your teapot, rinse it with hot water after each use, avoiding the use of soap or abrasive cleaners, as these can affect the flavor of your tea. Allow the teapot to air dry completely before storing it.

Can I use my zisha teapot for different types of tea?

Yes, you can

How should I store my zisha teapot when not in use?

Store your zisha teapot in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent any potential damage to the clay. It's also a good idea to store it with the lid off to allow for proper ventilation and to prevent any moisture buildup.
